In the Sporades group, Skiathos is the smallest in size, yet has the largest tourist infrastructure, and attracts the largest number of visitors to this part of the Aegean. The island encompasses approximately 48 square kilometers of pine-covered low hills, with a main road running in a southerly direction from the east coast all the way around to the west coast, to about midpoint on the island. Starting with a cruise that has also a folklore show on the boat with traditional Greek dances, this trip will offer you some of the Aegean’s beauty. On the island of Skiathos, you will visit the church of Agios Nikolaos and the house of Papadiamantis, one of the most famous greek literary man. You will have time to walk in the capital of Skiathos for shopping and of course to taste greek specialties. Now it’s time to swim in one of the most famous beach of Skiathos, therefore the most crowded. It is well-known for its extremely fine white sand and its fragrant pine trees forest from which the region took its name. It is considered as the most unspoiled natural beach of the Mediterranean and is a protected environment. A biotope can be found in the pine forest bordering the beach where different species of plants and birds are protected; this place, as well as the beach, is developed for ecotourism, financed by the Municipality and the European Union. Our trip ends late at night.
